Following Jesus was always about this life – “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth” – about loving God and loving others here and now, day after day. This is the kingdom of God – the conspiracy of love (as Kurt Struckmeyer calls it – the community of God living with compassion and justice, generosity and grace, nonviolent action, and loving concern for all of creation.
The Reverend Dr. Jimmy Reader brings 50 years of pastoral experience and intentional interim and church conflict consulting experience to his work as a church consultant and pastor.
An American Baptist minister, Rev. Reader has also served as interim pastor of four Presbyterian churches and has consulted with over 20 churches, many of them United Methodist congregations. He earned Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry (M.Div., D.Min.) degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary, doing his doctoral thesis work in the area of change and conflict.
Jimmy is married to Rev. Joy Bergfalk (also an American Baptist minister and former pastor at East Rochester and York Baptist churches). She currently serves as executive director of the Coffee Connection, a nonprofit business working with women in recovery.
